Our crabapple tree is bursting with blossoms. This beautiful floral state is so elusive, passing within a matter of days it seems. While trying to capture the tree in all it’s springtime glory, I found this little critter feasting on its pollen.
Since spring refuses to show its face outside my windows, I decided to go find it elsewhere. At least spring has arrived inside the Como Park Conservatory and it is beautiful!
It’s February 14th. Four inches of snow fell since last night. Temperatures are in the single digits. And yet….we’ve been given a sign of spring!
So cold
It hurts to breathe
Each arm wrapping around the other
Hands tucked inside
There’s no preventing it
from seeping right through your skin
Warmth draining from the inside
Can’t stop shaking
So tired of trying to survive it
Desolate and hopeless
Longing for someplace warm.
Outside, it’s cold too.
